Temple University SMC grads, Michael Busza and Jonathan Ristaino, both have featured work at our festival’s “New Media” component.
Thanks to the easy access of web-based content, the film hierarchy has been shaken-up! Now emerging artists can broadcast to a mass audiences at the click of a button. In this way, filmmakers have begun to use various formats of New Media distribution as a “springboard” for larger projects or expansions to their current programs. Learn more about our New Media program here.
Busza is screening his Emmy® Award-winning web-based television series, “One of the Guys” following the escapades of three gay friends and their straight roommate as all four seek love, purpose and a happy home. This is the premier showing of their episode titled “You Wouldn’t Be-Weave It,” shot locally in Philadelphia and Rehoboth Beach, DE.
A portion of Ristaino’s “Be Who You Are Documentary” web series will be shown as well. The series uses behind-the-scenes video and raw footage as a tool to advertise for the project’s future feature-length documentary – their cross-country trip focuses on everyday people “just being who they are,” as they cross 22 states in 25 days covering over 8,000 miles. Their production team was made up of even more Temple Alum, Levi Schenk and Aaron Stevens.
