qFLIX Philadelphia 2018 is proud to announce our Opening Night Black Tie Gala Benefit to be held at two fabulous venues on one spectacular night, Monday, March 19th
This star-studded evening begins with a walk on the red carpet at 6:30 PM at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts for the Philadelphia premiere of “Hello Again,” a critically acclaimed big screen LGBTQ+ musical starting at 7:00 PM.
The Black Tie Gala Benefit continues at 9:30 PM with a trip up to the 57th floor to One Liberty Observation Deck, where we will celebrate with and among the “stars” surrounded by a 360-degree dazzling view of the city.
Guests will then enjoy culinary delights from some of Philadelphia top chefs, with an open bar, along with talented Philadelphia-based musicians, and a Who’s Who guest list you don’t want to miss!
qFLIX Philadelphia 2018 marks 24th years of tradition with this groundbreaking musical from director Tom Gustafson (“Were the World Mine”) featuring a star-studded cast including Audra McDonald and Cheyenne Jackson, both of whom have been invited to receive qFLIX Artistic Achievement Awards in Acting, alongside Gustafson who will be presented with the qFLIX Artistic Achievement Award in Directing as part of the Opening Night ceremony.
Based on the celebrated Off-Broadway musical, “Hello Again,” chases 10 lost souls across 10 periods in New York City history in a daisy-chained musical exploration of love’s bittersweet embrace. The pursued becomes pursuer as they slip in and out of one another’s arms, spinning through 10 music-fueled vignettes, which come together in one soulful circle.
“Hello Again” also features Emmy Award winner and Tony nominee Martha Plimpton, Emmy and Drama Desk nominee T.R. Knight, SAG Award winner and Grammy nominee Jenna Ushkowitz, Teen Choice Award winner Tyler Blackburn, Rumer Willis, Sam Underwood, Nolan Gerard Funk and Al Calderon. All have been invited to attend our opening night’s festivities. . Cory Krueckeberg(producer/screen writer/editor) will also be in attendance .
The Philadelphia Inquirer observed: “With a cast headed by Audra McDonald, this is the wildest, sexiest, and certainly one of the smartest movie musicals ever made, and more serious than the original.”
